test which allows the physician to evaluate a patient & #8217
is underlying
heart rhythm and rate in order to identify the potential cause of
symptoms such as palpitations, skipped beats, lightheadedness, and
syncope. A portable recorder continuously records the ECG for 24-48
hours while the patient performs his or her usual daily activities
and records the activities and symptoms in a diary. The symptoms
can then be correlated to the underlying rhythm
